Ed DeStaute, one of Super Gas racing’s longest-tenured racers, ended a 14-year national event win drought with his victory at the season finale, tying a brilliant .001 reaction time to a 9.934 to turn on the win light after two-time tour winner Jerry Denton took too much stripe and broke out with a 9.84.
